The girls at the workshop had the best time, even though it was a very hot summer's weekend in Bilo.
Well Done, it was great to work with everyone & have Sarah as our tutor.
We started out with a charcoal activity using line & tone. I get a bit lost in all this but something happened with a few areas coming out & catching the eye.
Moving along we looked at gesso, tissue paper and impasto gel. It didn't look to bad until I started putting some washes into different areas & I ended up with the last effect - 'muddy' or OVERKILL. hehehehe
Sarah then showed us mediums, you can use to get different effects. Some are little paintings in themselves.
I'll have to do one of these sample sheets at home, so it's there in front of me all the time.
This was great fun with the canvas all taped up, we then introduced different techniques into areas of the canvas.
I was keen to use all mediums and see what happen at the end.
I had done sketches of the still life the day before, so I introduced them also. Below is the effects of a wash I got with Atelier Madder Brown.
Welcome to my Blog~
I am keen to have ART in my life and enjoy all fundamentals of ART, the creative & social side of it.
Finding out the how's and what's of ART is so intruging to me.
Mixed media is my first love, collage, glueing, sticking ~ bringing the creation to life. Having Fun with Art :)
Then sketching, drawing & doodling ~ especially in the phone book:) Husband hates that.
I have enjoyed different concepts of Art from Book Making to Mosaics, Painting and sketching.
Just being creative leaves you with a wonderful feeling.

I Will Not Die an Unlived Life
--Dawna Markova
I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance;
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.

SOLD at BAVA Exhibiton :)
It was very exciting to sell this peice because I did it so randomly. The lighting isn't the best, but I'll take another photo before I deliver it.
I took hubby back today to see the exhibition at the library. He enjoyed seeing all the artworks everyone had done.
I tell him about all the artworks at home, so it was good to see them all for a change at the exhibit.
The February Exhibiton in the Library ~
Biloela Area Visual Arts (BAVA).
A group of ladies who meet once a month & enjoy being creative.
The group is growing in numbers but also in confidence & self esteem to produce the artworks & exhibit their talents to the community.
Well Done Ladies :)
